Mika Katayama is a self taught graphic designer, a registered architect in Japan working as an Architectural technologist in Canada, an illustrator and web designer. Originally from Japan and a graduate from Konan University of Economics, when she experienced a major earthquake in Kobe in 1995, it changed her perspective on life and Mika came to Canada to continue her education.
The opportunity to work with architects made her think that there is a bridge between architecture and art which has always interested her through her studies. She is also a graduate of Kwantlen Polytechnic University of Architectural / Structural Drafting, Art Institute of Vancouver of Interior Design Diploma program. With 15 years of experience under her pen Mika is involved in a variety of projects using a diverse set of tools; architectural and interior 3D modelling, hand drawing and sketching, digital illustration and technical drawings, combined with an exceptional sense of organizational and communications skills.
Mika brings her artistic and graphic design sensibility and support to our practice through a unique creative blend and minimalist lens. Her work evokes an aura of the ephemeral world.
